“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galations 6:9
Do you ever struggle with patience? I do! For example, I was blessed to be able to receive the first vaccination injection for COVID 19 a year into this horrible pandemic. For months I have been saying as soon as there is a vaccine and it seems like there is an end in sight, I will be positive and hopeful, but now I feel more impatient than ever!! Nothing ever seems to happen quickly enough for me.
Today, a rainy, yucky day, I got in my car to drive to work and heard on the radio that Dick Hoyt died. You may not know about Dick, but his story, and his son Ricky's is amazing. I almost instantly felt humbled and embarrassed about my whining about needing to be patient for a few more weeks or months in a pandemic that affects many! Ricky and Dick's story is a great lesson of selflessness and love and acceptance and inclusion. Take a look a video on the right the top one may be a little long for the little ones, but give it a try. I think it they can understand. (Maybe better than us grown ups.) |
